Women’s World Day of Prayer 2.03.2018

Women’s World Day of Prayer 2.03.2018

by Robert Regula / Thursday, 22 February 2018 / Published in Events

“All God’s Creation is very good!”

Women’s World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March.

Every year, the worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme. The theme this year is “All God’s creation is very good!” and has been prepared by the women of Suriname which is situated in the north eastern Atlantic coast of South America. This year Suriname will become the focus of prayer and understanding all over the world. Through preparation and participation in the worship service, women worldwide learn how their sisters of other countries, languages and cultures understand the biblical passages in their context. Women’s World Day of Prayer aims to demonstrate that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence in the world.

Men and women are warmly welcome come to this prayer service which will take place this year in Holy Rosary Church, Oldcourt Avenue, Tallaght on Friday 2nd March 2018 at 7.30.pm.
