This week, the relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis is visiting the Archdiocese of Dublin.<\/p>\n
Carlo Acutis was born in 1991, in London to Italian parents. His family moved to Milan shortly after. He was a gamer and computer programmer who loved soccer. From a young age, he had a special love for God, even though his parents weren\u2019t especially devout. He attended Mass daily, regularly receiving the sacraments. He was known for centring his life on the Eucharist. \u201cAlways to be united with Jesus\u201d, he would say, \u201cthis is my programme of life\u201d. He managed to drag his parents and relatives to Mass every day. Carlo set up a website documenting Eucharistic miracles, and is now considered a patron saint of the Internet. At age 15, Carlo was diagnosed with an untreatable leukaemia. He died on 12th Oct 2006.<\/p>\n
He was beatified by Pope Francis on 10th Oct 2020. His beatification highlighted the significance of his witness, particularly for the younger generation, demonstrating that holiness is attainable even in our modern world.<\/p>\n
Among the places visited by the relic will be St. Kevin\u2019s Church, Kilnamanagh<\/strong> and St. Kilian\u2019s Church, Kingswood<\/strong>. The relic will arrive on Monday, 27th November in the morning, and Mass in honour of Blessed Carlo will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Kevin\u2019s Church. This will be followed by a Liturgy of the Word at noon in St. Kilian\u2019s Church.<\/p>\n
