{"id":6323,"date":"2020-03-23T22:02:12","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T22:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stmarys-tallaght.ie\/site\/?p=6323"},"modified":"2020-03-23T22:05:04","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T22:05:04","slug":"a-special-urbi-et-orbi-blessing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stmarys-tallaght.ie\/site\/a-special-urbi-et-orbi-blessing\/","title":{"rendered":"A special \u2018Urbi et Orbi\u2019 blessing &#8211; Fri, 27 March at 6pm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Pope\u00a0 announced that on <strong>Friday, 27 March,<\/strong> he will preside over a moment of prayer on the\u00a0<em>sagrato<\/em> of St Peter\u2019s Basilica, the platform at the top of the steps immediately in front of the face of the Church. \u201cI invite everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony will consist in readings from the Scriptures, prayers of supplication, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament; and will conclude with Pope Francis giving the\u00a0<em>Urbi et orbi<\/em>\u00a0Blessing, with the possibility of gaining a plenary indulgence for all those who listen to it live through the various forms of communication. The blessing \u201cto the City [of Rome] and to the World\u201d is normally only given on Christmas and Easter.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of the Holy See Press Office confirmed that the moment of prayer on Friday will be broadcast live from the Vatican, beginning at 6 pm Rome time.
