DUBLIN DIOCESAN CHILD SAFEGUARDING DAY
(Extract from Presentation by Dublin Diocesan Child Safeguarding Office)
“We in the Archdiocese of Dublin value and ecnourage the participation of children and young people in the parish liturgies and Diocesan activities. Safeguarding is about creating an environment which facilitates such involvement so that children can grow strong in their faith as they experience the love of Jesus in his Church. Everyone who ministers in the parish is a representative of the Church and must observe safeguarding practices and guidelines.
Archbishop Diarmuid Martin is deeply grateful to all the priests, parish sisters, pastoral workers, staff and volunteers in our parishes who have worked with great dedication in order to ensure that the Parish is a place where children will be cherished.”
“We need constantly remind ourselves of the improtance of following safeguarding procedures and good practice guidelines.”
Today we are asked to pray for all who have been affected by Child Abuse; and that the Catholic Church will be a place where children will be cherished.
We draw your attention to the Parish Child Protection policy statement.
Members of our Parish Team and many Parish volunteers have taken part in the Diocesan training days held during March 2015.
We are extremely grateful to all who have signed up for Garda Vetting.
